Great little sandwich shop that is about half the price of Ike's and just as good. None of the celebrity photos or even ambience. This is a sandwich shop, not a place to look cool. Best value sandwiches in the city outside of Saigon sandwich.

This is hands down my favorite sandwich shop in the Dogpatch/Mission Bay area. The place is no-frills, but the sandwiches are incredibly fresh, packed with flavor, and priced just right. If you're looking for a satisfying, budget-friendly meal, this spot is a hidden gem. Highly recommend going earlier because they may run out of your favorite breads.

A great place to get a sandwich if you're in the Mission Bay area. I got the meatball sandwich on Dutch Crunch for lunch. Bread was toasted great and satisfied with the amount of meat in the sandwich. The guy at the register was friendly. They have limited seating inside.

A quick and classic sandwich shop I eat here when I come in for work sometimes. I always order ahead since they have a steady flow of orders during lunch rush. There is a small space to eat inside but I prefer walking a block down to eat at the park! I've had both the pastrami and chicken salad and both are soooo good. I've only gotten Dutch crunch and it's nice and flaky on the outside but fluffy on the inside - does not scratch the roof of your mouth! Love this place and excited to try other proteins / breads

The Sandwich Shop The original location before their move to third street was a bit easier on the parking side for sure. Gotta park on the side streets to find parking, that is if you can even find parking. Walking in, seems a little bare to the bones but it's not some super high end sandwich spot with all the fancy machinery/materials. A little saddened they aren't selling the sweets/cookies any longer. Times hit hard these kinds of food spots.(COVID SUCKS!) I usually stick to the same thing when it comes to sandwiches. But on this particular day, the meatball sub was calling my name! Got the meatball sub on a sourdough roll with provolone. The bread was nicely toasted and crisp on the outside, inside warm and soft. Now let me tell you! These aren't some little bitty meatballs, they were decently sized and the flavor was on point! The sauce was great! Only thing is, I wish they added a little bit more to the sub. I know they don't add a lot to stop the sandwich from being too soggy, but today is just wasn't enough. Other than that, this place is pretty solid for subs! I also recommend the hotlink Sando, especially if you don't mind the heat!

Working at UCSF in mission bay this place is one of the best values for lunch and one of the better sandwich shops around. The service here is always warm and friendly and it's nice to support small local business. The sandwiches here for the price in San Francisco is a great deal. The sandwiches have a good amount of meat and the toppings/veggies are always fresh. Bread selection is good also, just be aware they do run out of certain items as the day goes on so get your orders in early. One of my favorite spots for a quick sandwich and lunch.

3/18/22 I love this sandwich shop! I didn't bring lunch that day and had heard from my coworkers that The Sandwich Shop sells great sandwiches. It's super convenient for me too (about 2 blocks away). The staff there are super friendly and also very busy during the lunch hour (they get a lot of phone orders) and when I've passed by before, they always have several people waiting outside for their orders. For lunch that day, I got a smoked turkey sandwich on rye bread with pepperjack cheese; a spicy mustard topping and everything on it except jalapenos. I only had to wait 5-ish minutes until my sandwich was ready to be picked up. The bread was toasted well and the sandwich overall was delicious. I was genuinely surprised by how much turkey meat they put inside. The sandwich itself is a good size that I had to save the other half for later (as a snack or for lunch the next day). Looking forward to my next sandwich craving at The Sandwich Shop.
